Why we travel
We're Jeff and Katie. We have four kids, one budget, and a habit of choosing trips over stuff.
Nobody remembers the year they got a new couch. Our kids still talk about bodyboarding in Anguilla and walking the BoardWalk to Epcot. That's the whole idea behind Trips First: when money is on the table, experiences come first.
We're not travel influencers with unlimited budgets, and we don't believe in “free travel.” Points and miles are a tool. Used well, they turn one trip a year into two. Used badly, they cost you more than they save. We share both sides.
What makes this different
- Real numbers. Every trip report shows what we paid in cash, what we paid in points, and what we'd change.
- Built for big families. Most points advice assumes two travelers. We're booking six seats.
- No hype. If a card or a deal isn't worth it, we'll say so.
A note on privacy
You won't see our kids' faces here or on Instagram. That's a choice we made on purpose. You'll get the views, the details, and the screenshots instead.
